Dutch Meat Loaf

1 1/2 lbs. ground beef

1 cup fresh bread crumbs

1 medium sized onion – chopped

1/2 -8oz can tomato sauce

1 egg – beaten

1 1/2 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. pepper

 

Lightly mix above ingredients. Form into loaf. Place in shallow pan. Bake in moderate oven at 350* while combining the following:

1/2 can tomato sauce

1 cup water

2 Tbsp. prepared mustard

2 Tbsp. vinegar

2 Tbsp. brown sugar or molasses

Pour over meat loaf in oven. Continue baking 1 1/4 hours longer, basting occasionally.
